Turnbuckles

A turnbuckle is a stretching screw or bottle screw. It is a device for adjusting the tension on lengths of ropes, cables, tie rods or other tensioning systems. It normally consists of two threaded eyebolts, one screwed into each end of a small metal body. One bolt is a left hand thread and the other a right hand thread. Tension can be adjusted by rotating the body.
